Main DFD screen Device progress area:- Shows, the name of the device, the device’s overall progress, the progress of the current image, and the current status. Parallel/Sequential Download Display: Erase Option Display:- choices are ‘Erase only’, ‘Erase to Size’, and ‘None’
Main DFD screen Tam Check box:-When selected this options puts the phone into TAM mode and prevents image downloads Start button:-Activating this button will start the download. Once the down load has started this button will change to Stop so that the download can be cancelled if needed. WARNING: Stopping the download progress will usually result in the phone becoming non-operational or “bricked” Configure button:- This opens a new screen that allows you to specify the image files to download and various options. Configuring the DFD application is the first thing you must do before attempting as download
Configuring the DFD Application Setting information:-Each parameter here is non-operational and reserved for future use Post download:-Allows you to specify what to do to the phone once all images have finished downloading. The options are: ‘No reset’, ‘Reset to normal mode’ and ‘Reset to TAM mode’ Download type:-If sequential is chosen only one image will down load at a time whereas if the preferred parallel is chose up to three images can be downloaded to the phone at the same time, making paralleled downloads up to 40% faster then sequential
Configuring the DFD Application SGOLD Image Selection:- This is one of two main processors on the x700 and is known as the modem processor. Each of the several different code areas utilized by SGOLD must have a unique image file downloaded to it. The checked boxes allow you to specify which areas should be included in the download, and any area not selected will not have a file downloaded to it. The current four areas associated with SGOLD are: RAM loader(SFD), Boot (SBB), Core (SOS), and Calibration (SNV). The reserved area (SSEC) is not currently being used and should not be selected
WARNING: Do not attempt to download an image file that is not specific to that area, as doing so so will result in a non-operational or “bricked” phone To avoid having to browse for file names and inadvertently downloading images to the wrong areas, you can click on “Fill all SGOLD binaries from directory” button. Doing so will bring up the following dialog. Configuring the DFD Application Browse the directory containing the image files and click the fill button. All the correct file names will then be filled in for each SGOLD areas
You want to download: You must also download: SGOLD RAM Loader OMAP RAM Loader Any SGOLD image OMAP RAM Loader SGOLD RAM Loader OMAP RAM Loader No dependencies Any OMAP image OMAP RAM Loader Configuring the DFD Application SGOLD dependencies:- When the Phone is powered up in the download mode, the RSM loaders for SGOLD and OMAP are not present on the phone. Therefore to download any SGOLD images you must also select the downloading of the SGOLD RAM loader. Also the OMAP RAM loader must be present on the phone before ANY images can be downloaded. Therefore these rules should be followed when your not doing a full download

Configuring the DFD Application There are two erase options that are mutually exclusive. Erase only: Which will only the SGOLD and OMAP areas that you have selected and no images will be downloaded to the phone Erase to Size:- This will erase a portion of any SGOLD or OMAP areas that’s been selected. An equal size of area will be erased with that of the image which will then be downloaded after erasing. Saving your configuration values:- Once all the values have been set up in the configuration screen, select OK to save them and return to the main DFD screen. Alternatively select cancel if you no not wish to save the entered values
