  2. Purpose The purpose of this Webcast is to prepare local educational agency (LEA) CAASPP coordinators and test site coordinators for effective implementation of student accessibility resources for the CAASPP summative assessments. CAASPP Accessibility and Accommodations

Reminders for 2017–18: Test Operation Management System (TOMS) • Student test settings must be entered for 2017–18 by the LEA CAASPP or Site Coordinator, as student test settings are not retained from year to year • Individualized education program (IEP) / Section 504 plan Indicators in the California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System (CALPADS) must be set to select accommodations in TOMS • Primary Disability code is required in CALPADS for students with an IEP CAASPP Accessibility and Accommodations

CAASPP 2017–18 ISAAP Tool • For selecting and assigning designated supports and accommodations, both embedded and non-embedded • For combining two or more CAASPP Individual Student Assessment Accessibility Profile (ISAAP) files to create a single file for upload • May not be appropriate for all situations • May be especially useful for assigning designated supports, such as language supports for English learners • Reminder: Assigned resources should only be resources a student uses regularly or are familiar with using CAASPP Accessibility and Accommodations

Unlisted Resources Student test settings must be entered for 2017–18, as student test settings from 2016–17 were not retained Require documentation through IEP / Section 504 plan Not available if CALPADS indicator or disability code are not set Request must be made through TOMS CAASPP Accessibility and Accommodations

Unlisted Resources The LEA CAASPP or Test Site Coordinator shall make the request on behalf of the LEA a minimum of ten business days prior to the pupil’s first day of CAASPP testing The CDE shall respond to the request within four business days from the date of the electronic transmission. Unlisted Resources: IEP/504 Indicator • Student has IEP/504 but indicator not set in TOMS • LEA CAASPP Coordinator updates student information in CALPADS • CALPADS updates TOMS within 24 hours • LEA CAASPP Coordinator adds accommodations in TOMS student test settings in the morning and they will be present that afternoon. Unlisted Resources: Confirmation of Submission • Once submitted, the CDE and Requestor will receive a single e-mail with all submitted request(s) for Unlisted Resources that will also include the Case Number for the Unlisted Resources • If providing additional documentation to an unlisted request, use the assigned Case Number in subject line and send to ACCESSIBILITY@cde.ca.gov. CAASPP Accessibility and Accommodations

Unlisted Resources: Confirmation of Decision • Once approved, the LEA will receive an e-mail that includes the status of their Unlisted Resource Request • The CDE will respond within four business days of submission date • Reminder: Make sure the Test Site Coordinator is aware of the approval once received. CAA for Science CAA for Science is now available! • Administration from November 1, 2017, through the end of instruction • Each student is administered three embedded Performance Tasks (PTs) • CAA for Science PTs are administered after instruction of the related content is complete • Allows closer integration of summative assessment with instruction than previously possible • Embedded PTs are downloaded from TOMS CAASPP Accessibility and Accommodations

CAA for Science Data Entry Interface • Results must be entered for each administration of each embedded PT • DEI is similar to the Test Delivery System (TDS) but the secure browser is not needed • Can be entered by any approved CAASPP LEA staff • Available in January CAASPP Accessibility and Accommodations

CAA for Science Important Upcoming Dates • DEI to be released on January 9, 2018 • DEI entry can be done after testing with the student is complete; no device required for student testing • “Transcribing Testing Results for the CAA for Science” video to be posted in early January CAASPP Accessibility and Accommodations
