Unemployment benefit amounts • ISK 184,188 per month, Euro 1.296 (100% entitlement). • Income related 290.266 per month Euro 2.043 max • Right to receive income-related unemployment benefit is valid for 3 months from the beginning of the benefit period. • One period of benefits are 2 ½ years (30 months) • ISK 7.368, Euro 55 is paid each month for each dependent child under the age of 18 for whom the recipient is responsible. Directorate of Labour • Responsible to the Minister of Social Affairs • Managemes employment service within the country + daily expedition of the Unemployment Benefit Fund • Supervises the employment service centres and coordinates their activities • Gathers information on the employment situation

Hlutverkasetur • Special measure for people with mental difficulties. • Run courses and workshops aiming to build up self esteem and personal strength • Holistic approach - use various methods, such as drama and art • Personal counselling and therapies available. • Collaboration with official bodies

Mímir símenntun • Main purpose: • to offer courses for adults • develop educational opportunities and to encourage people in the labour market to practice continuous education and job development. Courses for immigrants / Councelling and Icelandic courses. Courses to empower people Basic education Courses for people with disabilities Offers course curricula designed and developed by The Education and Training Service Centre (ETSC) and career counselling and educational guidance.
