  1. Rational Norms: • Agree to listen to each others ideas before talking. • Our form of communication is texting to the whole group to update on progress. Task Norms: • Make sure everyone is updated. ( Text, email, and phone calls.) • Keep meetings in a timely manner. • Prepared information, complete and ready to talk about in the next meeting.

  2. MESSY ROMMATESPROBLEM • For the first few months all the roommates were good about keeping the apartment clean, but as school got more demanding dishes were being left in the sink, bathrooms were getting gross, and the living room was cluttered with everyone’s stuff.

  3. Starting Criteria • General Goal: Have an nice clean apartment to live in. With all five roommates getting along and taking part cleaning the apartment. • Specific Criteria: The roommates are so busy at school and work, that they are not doing their share of the house work. Needs to meet Criteria: • Time Management. • Cheap, cleaning supplies. • Fair for everyone. • Everyone needs to participate. • A portion of income goes to cleaning supplies each month or as needed.

  4. Brain Storming Possible Solutions • Round Robin. • Rock, Paper, Scissors. • Draw Names. • Post Work Schedule • Everyone is responsible for themselves. • Hire a Maid. • Find out how much everyone is willing to spend. • Seniority picks chore first. • Nose Goes. • Inimini miny mo.

  5. SOLUTIONS SOLUTION 1 SOLUTION 2 Hire a maid: This solution is great if you have the money to get a maid each month. • Round Robin : This solution is fair for everyone and it’s random so you may or may not get the same chores two weeks in a row.

  6. SOLUTONS SOLUTION 3 SOLUTION 4 Everyone is responsible for themselves: This solution is great until there is only one person cleaning the apartment • Posting a work schedule: This solution allows everyone to be able to work around everyone’s schedule.

  7. SOLUTIONS SOLUTION 5 • Draw names: This is a great way to prevent fights from happening and no one would get the same chores two weeks in a row

  8. CRITERI

  9. FINAL SOLUTION Round Robin is our final solution because it is the fairest and the one that met more of the criteria. This solution would is easy and would prevent the roommates from getting into arguments. • PROS • Fairest. • Easy way for everyone to understand and implement. • Work as a team. • CONS • Its by chance. • Obligated to clean other chores. • Not cleaning up after yourself.

  10. Implementing Solution • At the very beginning the land lord will be present to talk about the agreement that has been set by he/she in the lease agreement. • Rotate on a week to week basis. Between Vacuuming, Dusting, Cleaning the Kitchen, and the Bathroom. • When the cleaning supplies are low one person will switch off each month or as needed to pick up cleaning supplies. In using this solution it will be fair for each of the roommates. It will help with having the apartment clean and tidy so that all the roommates can accomplish the task that is required. Each roommate will be able to pay more attention in schooling and less about the messy room.
