Milestones • Milestones are descriptions of the abilities expected of a trainee or physician at a defined stage of professional development. • PURPOSE • Marking the progression of competence • Defined targets to guide learning and assessment • Can be used to develop benchmarks for progress or promotion

  11. Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) ‘a critical part of professional work that can be identified as a unit to be entrusted to a trainee once sufficient competence has been reached’ (ten Cate, 2006)
