Past activities III / Evaluation • Goals: • Identify information needs and performance indicators relevant to satisfy the needs of the project stakeholders; • Evaluate b-on’s performance namely the quality of resources and services and community satisfaction • Create conditions to perform benchmarking across institutions members and similar organizations • Contribute to a sustainable growth of b-on’s project making available and using information to improve services • Stages: • Model and methodology definition • Communication plan definition • Dimensions and indicators (resources, usage, quality, impact) • Inquiries • Reports

Future activities • 2007 will be the quality year = improve existing services • Implementation of Electronic Resource Management System -ERMS • Finish JURO Implementation (for statistics handling) • Implementation of monitoring tools to handle some services monitoring (HP Openview) • Implementation of a system to handle “clients” requests (HP service desk)

Future activities • 2007 will be the quality year = improve existing services • Mobility-learning (create a comprehensive package): • Aim: user that need to do research • Content: view on electronic services, search techniques, resources available, etc) • Who: librarians and specialist in mobility learning • How: script definition, implementation • Integration with shibboleth (integrated in a European project) • Portal software update • Portal infra-structures update (high availability system)

Cooperation • Licensing Guide / Licensing model (use the same?) • ERMS – Share specifications, tender and results (We have made specifications draft) • JURO (man power for the project) • Statistics bulletin (share the format? Share some data?) • Mobility-learning (everything but translation) • Shibboleth (press release + technical support)

Informal Reports On Conferences • SCIENTIFIC PUBLISHING IN THE EUROPEAN RESEARCH AREA ACCESS, DISSEMINATION AND PRESERVATION IN THE DIGITAL AGE, Brussels, 15-16 February • The commission is paying a lot of attention to this issues. The prove is that funding will be provided for these areas • Several models to increase access were presented and debated: • Open access (author pays model). Important case studies INH and Welcome trust. SCOAP project was also presented • Institutional repositories • Several views were presented (It was the first time that I saw figures on studies to demonstrate views) • Researchers, Authors, Publishers, Librarians
