#3 Energy Notes • Energy – the ability to do work • Work – the transfer of energy. Expressed in joules (j) • Kinetic energy – energy in motion • All moving objects have kinetic energy • Kinetic energy = mv2m = mass in kg 2 v = objects speed • The more mass an object has the more kinetic energy • The more speed an object has the more kinetic energy
