Vocabulary Sentinel I didn’t want the candy to get stolen, so I appointed Jordan to stand sentinel. Although most of the troops were able to sleep, several sentinels had to stay awake all night to keep watch. Sentinels at the Tomb of the Unknowns keep guard 365 days a year, 24 hrs. per day. * Also referred to as the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Foreshadowing Foreshadowing is a hint or clue at what will happen in the future. It is used to add suspense or share information to help the reader understand what is happening in the story.
Foreshadowing Examples from story:
Retelling Tell the author and title of the story. Explain who the characters are. Explain the main problem of the story. Name the main events, keeping them in order. Explain what happens at the end. Tell what you liked or didn’t like about the story.
