(bacteria, viruses, fungus, protozoa, etc.) • In-depth definition (dictionary def)-scientist who investigates the growth, structure, development, and other characteristics of microorganisms, such as bacteria

  4. Naming bacteria • Every bacteria consists of two names • Genus and species • Staphylococcus Aureus • Staphylococcus-genus • Aureus- species • Species is more specific

  5. Growing bacteria • The medium is the augar in the petri dishes • Then we put it in an incubator to keep it warm 37 degrees • Bacteria needs to be warm and wet

  6. Aseptic techniques • A-not • Sep- infection/infected • Definition of aseptic-Procedure performed under a “free of bacteria” area • Ways to accomplish this is to be sure that areas around you are clean • This includes clean tools, clean areas, and proper protective gears.

  12. Prions • Not alive • Little chunks of protein that makes you sick Prevention • Don’t eat brains • Never eat the brains that eat something else
