  2. What is a contraction? A contraction is putting two words together using an apostrophe ( ‘ ).

  3. An example of a contraction is… can + not =

  4. can + not = can’t

  5. Another example is… is + not =

  6. is + not = isn’t

  7. Let’s do one more… he + is =

  8. he + is = he’s

  9. Now you can do it! we + are = we‘re

  10. she + is = she’s

  11. he + will = he’ll

  12. do + not = don’t

  13. should + not = shouldn’t

  14. did + not = didn’t

  15. they + are = they’re

  16. Now, let’s see if you can find the contraction!
