  3. Public school • Tuition-free • Open enrollment A charter school is a public school of choice that is established with a performance contract. As a public school option, Leadership Prep will provide a free-tuition school and will have open enrollment.

  12. Specifics about LPS • Elementary = Grades K-4 • Secondary = Grades 5-12 • 4 classes of 25 each in elementary for a total of 100 in a grade

  13. How does enrollment work? • Geographic boundary • Allen ISD, Aubrey ISD, Celina ISD, Denton ISD, Frisco ISD, Lewisville ISD, Little Elm ISD, McKinney ISD, Plano ISD and Prosper ISD • Applications accepted February 4th-22nd on our website: www.lpsfrisco.com • Lottery – February 28th at 10am

  14. Where will the school be housed? • Elevate Life Church: K-4 • LPS building: 5-12

  15. School Hours and Calendar • School Day: • K-4th: 7:55-3:15 weekdays • Was 3:10 this year • Typically align with FISD calendar for major holidays, but NOT identical • Hours and calendar are already approved • Attendance is very important!

Uniforms: - uniform look that can be bought from multiple sources • Lunch: - lunch option from Wholesome Food Services (restaurant-provided) Mon-Thurs - Chick-fil-A Fridays • Transportation: - parents will drop off and pick up, though there are other options like Frisco Shuttle, Kids R Kids, etc.

  25. Recess • outside recess on nice weather days; inside recess on rainy days and too hot/cold days • a combination of free play and structured recess activities

  26. Snack • about 10 minutes long goldfish crackers • one snack item to eat and a water bottle • here are some examples: fruit snacks cheese stick granola bar applesauce

  27. Lunch • Parents provide packed lunch from home or order catered lunch option • students eat in Power Plant • parent servant leaders • Please note, we are unable to heat up lunches or provide utensils

  28. Optional Homework • review of skills taught • only 10 minutes per night • read for 15 minutes • practice high frequency words • optional: math homework page • parents: check for understanding

  29. Take-Home Projects • Leader Lion goes home with one child every Friday • Star of the Week poster • Monthly take-home projects; example: disguise the turkey

  30. Report Cards • Every 9 weeks • Report cards will be marked with a check ( ), a plus (+), or a minus (-) • Skills checklist for Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies • Includes work habits and behavior
