Changes for the users • Nothing … • Same IMAP service on machine xxxx.mailbox.cern.ch • No need to reconfigure Mail client • But … • Single sign on Mail / NICE (changes to userreg) • Pine users on linux should use at least version 4.21 and will have to type their password when pine starts (or saved locally in protected space) • Procmail no longer supported (workaround being investigated, users will be contacted) Emmanuel Ormancey - Michel Christaller
Migration status • 874 MMM users. • 329 migrations since new migration process. • Migration of IT started on 14th January. • 320 “Ask for migration” mails sent. • 190 migrations followed. Emmanuel Ormancey - Michel Christaller
All clients issues • For ALL problems: • Restart mail client before anything else and retry. • If Outlook XP was assigned: Verify Computer was switched off / on and office XP installed. • Check status page for migration logs: • http://cern.ch/mmms/status.asp?login=MAILLOGIN • Check MMM migration FAQ: • http://cern.ch/mmms/Faq • For apparently lost folders: • Expand mailfolder. Outlook XPReconfigure For ANY problem: • Close Outlook XP. • Reconfigure Outlook XP: • See MMM -> FAQ -> Reconfigure Outlook XP for MMM. • Close Outlook XP. • From Control Panel, double-click Mail. • Click Show Profiles • Remove All profiles. • Click Ok. • Run this script to reconfigure mail account: \\cern.ch\dfs\applications\CERN\OLExchg\OLxpForCERN.vbs Emmanuel Ormancey - Michel Christaller

Outlook XPImport PST file. • Contacts and Calendar are missing: • See MMM -> FAQ -> Contacts and Calendar are missing. • Open Outlook XP • File -> Import and export • Select "Import from another program or file", click Next • Select "Personal Folder File (*.pst)", click Next • Select the PST file and click Next. • Default name and location of the PST file isC:\Documents and Settings\YourLoginName\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.pst • Search for *.pst and import all. • Leave the default selection and click Finish. The import process will start and may take a few moments depending on the amount of data to be imported. • After importing, the PST files can be deleted from the roaming profile. Outlook XPDifferent Nice account • To access a mailbox from a different Nice account with Outlook XP: • Assuming you are currently logged in your Nice account. • Close Outlook XP • From Control Panel -> Mail -> Show Profiles -> Remove All profiles. • Add profile -> Set a profile name (i.e. Default) • Add a new mail account -> Microsoft Exchange server • Type CERNXCHG in Microsoft Exchange server field • Type your Mailbox login in User name field • Click Check name • Click More Settings -> Advanced Tab • Set Logon network security to None. • Click Ok • When asked, type in your Mailbox login, password and type CERN in domain field. • Close all. • Control Panel ->Mail -> Show Profiles • Properties on the profile you just created • View or change existing email accounts • Verify that field: "Deliver new e-mail to the following location" is "Mailbox - Firstname Lastname". Correct if necessary. • Close all and run Outlook XP. • When asked (on Outlook XP startup), type in Mailbox login, password and type CERN in domain field. Emmanuel Ormancey - Michel Christaller
Outlook XPOutlook 2000 conflict. • Access mailbox from Outlook 2000 and Outlook XP causes configuration conflict: • Common error: PSTPRX.dll failed… • Solve by reconfiguring Outlook XP. • Disable roaming profile. Emmanuel Ormancey - Michel Christaller
Outlook XPWrong date on Sent Items • After migration some old sent items may be displayed with wrong date (migration date): • Display received header field: • View -> Current View -> Customize Current View Fields • Select 'Sent' on the left list -> click Add • Click on 'Received' on the right list -> click Remove Emmanuel Ormancey - Michel Christaller
Outlook 2000 - 1 Folders have disappeared: • Restart Outlook. • MMM -> FAQ -> Folders have disappeared. • Open Outlook 2000 • Select one IMAP folder • Tools -> Accounts • Select your IMAP account and click Properties • IMAP tab • Remove mail/ in "Root folder path" • Ok -> Close • If folders are still not visible, select your inbox, click Tools -> IMAP Folders • Uncheck show only subscribed folders Emmanuel Ormancey - Michel Christaller

Netscape Folders are missing: • Restart Netscape. • MMM -> FAQ -> Folders have disappeared. • Open Netscape • Right-click the <account>.mailbox line in the folder's pane • Choose Mail server properties • Choose the Advanced pane in the new window • Empty the line "Path on the mail server" • Uncheck the box "Show only subscribed folders" • Check the box "Allow server to override these namespaces" • Click Ok. Mozilla Folders are missing: • Restart Mozilla. • MMM -> FAQ -> Folders have disappeared. • Open Mozilla • Open Mail & Newsgroups Window • Edit -> Mail & Newsgroup Account Settings • Select account -> Server Settings -> Advanced • Empty "IMAP Server Directory“ • Uncheck "Show only subscribed folders“ • Check the box "Allow server to override these namespaces" • Click Ok. Pine • Supported versions: • Pine (v3.95) does not work on Redhat 6 • Pine4 (v4.21) works on Redhat 6, no SSL • Pine (v4.44) works on Redhat 7 • Behavior change: • Users have to type password for each session. • RSH authentication does not work : • Configuration needs to be changed to avoid timeout: specify the port used • Password is transmitted over the wire. Pine – missing folders • Folders are missing: • Restart Pine. • MMM -> FAQ -> Folders have disappeared. • Go to main menu • Type S(setup) • Type L(collection lists) • Choose 'mailserver' entry. • clear the path line. • type Ctrl-X to save this entry, Y(yes) • With Pine 4.21 : Set combined-folder-display • Now folders can contain both sub-folders and messages: • Use keys (‘Enter’ or ‘>’) to select view of messages or view of sub-folders Emmanuel Ormancey - Michel Christaller
Pine – Import local folders Import local folders to MMM: • See MMM -> documentation -> Pine4 configuration. • Create on Mailserver every folder you want to have (folder list screen -> 'A' key to add a new folder). • Move to a local folder. • Select all messages using the key sequence ';A' (they should go in bold). • Key sequence 'AS' to move the messages on another folder. • To select the folder, use Ctrl-N to choose the folder collection (should be 'Mailserver'), then Ctrl-T to list all folders in the collection. Choose (move onto) the folder you want and select it by pressing the Enter key. • Repeat this for all folders you want to move to the mail server. Emmanuel Ormancey - Michel Christaller
Import Pine Address book • Import Pine address book to MMM Contacts folder: • Run a browser on the machine hosting your pine configuration, or copy your pine .addressbook file on your local machine. • Go to: http://cern.ch/mmms/Services/Migration/pineaddressbook.asp • Click browse and Attach your pine .addressbook file. • Type mail login and password and click import. • Your pine address book will be imported to MMM and will be accessible from Outlook and Outlook Web Access.
