The Sumer Lyre The Sumer Lyre was made of gold and lapis lazuli They had a plaited beard and it was a sigh of divinity Return to Exhibit

Clappers in Egypt The Clappers In Ancient Egypt were there first instrument They were pretty much two pieces of wood that you clap together to make noise They were shaped like human hands They were made out of wood or bone Return to Exhibit
Flutes The Flutes were the second instrument and they were made out of bone, ivory, cane, or wood Some had reeds to go with them The flute was, and still is, played by blowing scross the hole at the top while covering the holes at the bottom with your fingers Return to Exhibit
Arched Harp Return to Exhibit Before the Mesopotamians played a stringed instrument they would wash there hands The arched harp was a stringed instrument It was played on the ground and you played it on your knees
Drums Return to Exhibit There were two types of drums They were mainly played at festivals or ceremony's
Oboes Return to Exhibit Oboes were used for wedding ceremony's and social rituals They were made from black wood Music was the essential to the pattern of the Greek life
Trumpet Return to Exhibit The trumpets were used at festivals and funerals They were made from bone
Symbols Return to Exhibit According to the Greeks, Music was divine as it assisted in healing both soul and body They symbols were played at banquets
Tambourines Return to Exhibit Music was highly regarded and presents all private and public festivals The tambourines were music compisitions
Horse Headed Fiddle Return to Exhibit A bow stringed instrument with a scroll carved like a horse gead It influenced the eruopeans It had a hazy tone
Lute Return to Exhibit The lute was originally named after the fruit This instrument was loved by everyone It was held horizontily and then players would hold it vertically, and the player would pluck the strings that was attached
Erhu Return to Exhibit The Erhu was introduced from the western region When playing the person playing usually has it on there lap and is moving the bow across the vertical lines horizontally Its considered a stringed instrument
Flute Return to Exhibit The flute was made of bone In most time flutes were made from bamboo By covering the holes and blowing threw the top hole while moving fingers flexibly and the sound will come out
Aluos Return to Exhibit In Rome they had an instrument named Aluos The auols was found at Pompeii showing slides and rings. .
Bagpipes Return to Exhibit They also had bagpipes They were used at there festivals
Cornu Return to Exhibit They also had a Cornu. A Cornu is a brass instrument used by the roman army’s to give orders in a bottle Cornu is a Latin word for horn
Tuba Return to Exhibit The romans had a tuba unlike todays modern tuba this tuba was a bronze trumpet, it was straight and the others were curvy.
