Welcome to Computer Architecture Rules No fighting, no foul language. Computers are for classwork only. One pass = one person out at a time. Each school-day of lateness = 1 point off. Be logged in and ready to take notes when the bell rings. Procedures Each class: 1) Go to my web page – there will be a Do Now. (I'll take attendance while you do this) It ought to take about 5 minutes. 2) The lesson (about 30 minutes). As much as possible, a quick lecture with an activity. 3) Review and summary, about 5 minutes. Grading and Assignments25% → Current Hardware/Software Events (use Engadget – other websites negotiable) Due during the first class of each week. 25% → Quizzes and exams At the end of each subunit (5-10 questions) and unit (20 questions) 50% → Projects (product reviews, shopping lists for computer builds, etc.) Textbook and Notesnewegg.com and on my website. Keep a neat Computer Architecture folder (please make one now).

Occasionally, there will be discussion questions: 1) For the most part, this class is traditionally about how to build, repair, and upgrade desktops. Are desktops, and this content, becoming obsolete? Could this knowledge be obsolete by the end of this course? 2) Why have people gone so gaga over buying a discontinued tablet?
