Heppa-what? • Multiplies in the Liver • Can be transmitted through food, water, or bodily fluids • Symptoms include swollen liver, flu-like symptoms, gout-like • symptoms • Hepatitis A • Hepatitis B • Similar to A • Transmitted through sexual contact, blood, or needles • Has similar symptoms to A, but can cause Cancer if not treated Your liver on Hepatitis --->

  3. Growth • While the Hepatitis Viruses can populate large spaces of its host, a single Hepatitis virus never grows • Organisms will grow over time, getting bigger and preparing to reproduce • All Hepatitis Viruses are nearly the same size

  4. Reproduction • Hepatitis can not reproduce by itself or with help from another of its species • Many organisms can reproduce sexually or asexually • Hepatitis must use another cell or system to produce copies of itself.

  5. Homeostasis • Many organisms need to quickly adapt to changing environments • Viruses will not adapt • Many times viruses are not affected by hostile conditions, because it is just a hunk of protein • If conditions become too hostile, the viruses will just die
