Project consists of 2 separate awardspecific modules • The Professional Module: • a 15 Credit, 100% coursework, semester 1 module of either: • The Professional Engineer (CE00627-3) • The Professional Technologist (CE00647-3) • The Project Module: • a 30 Credit, 2 semester module of either: • CE00629-3 BEng (Hons) Engineering Project • CE00648-3 BSc (Hons) Applied Technology Project

Professional Module Milestones #1 • FRI 12th Oct 2007-Submit Project Allocation form • FRI 2ND Nov 2007 -Agree Project Brief • FRI 11th Jan 2008 - Submit • Either a log book summary • Or Submission of a copy of your ‘log book’ to date • Appendices will include: • H&S report and application for approval • Ethical report and application for approval • Worth 40%

7. Professional Module Milestones #2 • FRI 11th Jan 2008 -Submit Initial Report • (approx 2500 words in main body) • Worth 60% • Report Contents • Introduction • Overview Literature Survey • Progress Review • work so far, what left to do to complete • Required Resources • Appendices • Project Plan

8. Project Module Requirements • You are required to meet with your chosen Supervisor for 20mins per week • Discuss issues such as: • project plan • Difficulties & questions • what has been done since last meeting: such as outcomes of tasks & experiment results • Tasks to complete for next meeting • Tasks to complete for finishing the projects • This should be recorded within your ‘Log Book’, this is your ‘project diary’ (marked in Professional Module) • It should include dates of project meetings • The log book can either be handwritten or using the preferred method of electronic recording • Remember that the log book is important so always keep some form of copy of its contents in case of loss

9. Project Module Milestones • Submit final Project Report - Wed 23rd April 2008 • Including Supporting Discs • Attend Graduate Exhibition. Bring Presentation CD - Fri 25th April 2008 • Attend Final Presentation & Interview. Not before 28th April 2008

10. Submission of reports • All assessed submissions are to be made at the reception and submissions desk on the second floor of the Octagon Building. • The deadline for submission is 15.30 on the appropriate day as advised. • This is 3.30 p.m. • This applies to all submissions for all modules in the faculty • There may be special arrangements on 23rd April 2008
