It has been a fantastic year for the Blue House with lots of participation from the students and the events that we were proud of and some with individual personal achievements £ 1397.41 At the start of the Year we had an update of our House Charity from 2011 – 2012 Miss Mistry had set the TGs a target £100 each and altogether Blue House raised

Jessica Auciello • Congratulations for a very successful performance at the Midlands Open Competition winning Gold in Black Belt 10-12 Years - Sparring and Silver in Black Belt 10-12 Years - Patterns. • Championships in Motherwell in April – achieving Silver in the team event and Silver in Black Belt 10-12 Years Patterns. In June Jessica took part in the UITF British Championships in the 11-14 years category. Jessica was successful against a 14 year old and earned Bronze in Sparring. • She has also won the Leicestershire and Rutland Sports talent contest enabling her to performing at the opening ceremony of the Leicestershire and Rutland School Games. Luke Jelley Took part in ‘ The Rotary Club Young Chef’ competition along with other students who all agree that it was an exciting evening. They were asked to cook a two course meal for two people and had to set and decorate a table. Luke said that ‘ the competition was very tough and I had a fantastic experience and I have gained a vast amount of experience which will help me in the future.’
Imogen Freeborough and Jessica Auicello In October 21 people from Stamford Tae Kwon do Club attended the GTUK British Championships. I Amongst them were two Blue House pupils - Imogen Freeborough and Jessica Auicello . Jessica competed in Patterns and Sparring as well as a team event achieved a silver in sparing and team event and Imogen achieved a Silver in Sparring, Bronze in Patterns and a Silver in the team event.
Emma Philip Judo - Three wins in the pool stages were enough to see Emma Philip into the knockout stage of the Year 8/9 girls U40kg competition where she finished in Bronze medal position.
Commitment and Dedication Megan Anderson Year 10 GCSE - PE student who has greatly impressed the PHF department with her commitment and dedication to sport. She represented Lincolnshire at U15 AND U17 level at Badminton which she travels to Lincon University every week to train. She also trains with Blackstones Netball Club in Stamford. On top of all this she represents the school at badminton, netball, hockey, athletics, cross country and rounders. Megan sets a good example to the other students at the school
Maths Student Selected for Oxford Summer School Year 11 student, Bob Cliffe, has been invited to attend the UK Mathematics Trust Summer School at Balliol College, University of Oxford. Bob is one of only 40 students in the United Kingdom to receive such an invitation. He was chosen on the back of excellent performances in the UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge and the ensuing Intermediate Mathematical Olympiad Paper where he was rewarded with a medal for his efforts. The week-long academic programme is based around intensive mathematical group work designed to stimulate the UK’s most talented young mathematicians. Although the Summer School is part-sponsored by the UKMT, the extra cost to Bob is being met by Casterton Business & Enterprise College. Bob is also a member of the National Youth Orchestra and has been invited to attend their Summer School as well. After his GCSEs, Bob will attend Oakham School, having received two scholarships, one for Maths and Physics, the other for Music.
BDS – Came second in the competition where they had to decorate Tutor board/area in the Red, White & Blue theme . They won two big cakes, they were that big , that they lasted a few days ! RWB Day is a chance our school to show support for families of our Armed Forces. By taking part we raised money to support children who have mums or dads serving in the Army; Royal Navy & Royal Marines or Royal Air Forces. The event was about having fun, getting dressed up using a red, white and blue theme, and finding ways of raising money. We all participated by dressing up and donating at least £1 each.
