  2. When was the first computer invented ? • The first computer was invented in about 1856.

  3. Who invented the first computer ? • Charles Babbage invented the concept of a programmable computer.

  4. Why was the first computer invented ? • Addition and subtraction or simple mathematics was the original purpose for why the computer was invented. As the years went on more uses were found and the computer was expanded upon.

  5. 1984 • IBM released its PC JR. and PC-AT. The PC JR. failed but the PC-AT, is several times faster then original PC with it’s notable increases in performance and storage capacity.

  6. 1987 • IBM introduced it’s PS/2 machines which made the 3 ½ - inch floppy disk drive and video graphics array standard for IBM computers.

  7. How have computers evolved ? • There are many ways in which computers have evolved. In terms of size, they have gotten much smaller. The first computer nearly filled an entire room.

  8. How have computers evolved ? • Modern computers based on integrated circuits millions to billions of times more capable than the early machines, and occupy only a fraction of the space.

  9. How have computers evolved ? • Modern day computers have come along way since the first computer. Computers have become faster and more portable. Computers are part of many peoples lifestyle and cannot live without one. The reason is because they are so resourceful to your life, your work place, and your social life.

  10. How have computers evolved ? • A new modern touch has been added to desktop computers. Now they have made some desktop computers with touch screen monitors.
