  4. Cool fact Did you know? The Danube River travels 2850 km through eight countries, drains the whole of Romania except the Black Sea coast, and completes its course in Romania's Danube Delta.

  5. Climate • Romania has four distinct seasons, like Canada. • Autumn and spring are rainy, summer is hot and dry and winter is very cold with lots of snow.

  6. Wild life • Romania's wildlife consists of wolves, bears, deer, lynx, chamois and countless varieties of birds.

Economy • With a GDP per capita (PPP) of $10,661estimated for 2007 • Part of the EU since Jan 1st 2007 • Romania's main exports are clothing and textiles, industrial machinery, electrical and electronic equipment, metallurgic products, raw materials, cars, military equipment, software, pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals, and agricultural products (fruits, vegetables, and flowers).

Family life • Very important • Most time is spent around the family • Some families work together • Marriage is a very important institution • All men must serve in the army, so the usual age for marriage is 21 • The women traditionally work at home, while the males work outside • Factories, farming, mining, and other blue collar jobs are predominant • White color jobs
