Aquis incorporated into the EEA Agreement Directive 2001/18/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 12 March 2001 on the deliberate release into the environment of genetically modified organisms and repealing Council Directive 90/220/EEC was incorporated into the EEA agreement by Joint Committee Decision No. 127/2007, along with the EU decisions No. 2002/623/EC, 2002/811/EC, 2002/812/EC, 2002/813/EC, 2003/701/EC and 2004/204/EC. The Directive 2008/27/EC was not considered EEA relevant.
Directive 2001/18/EC transposition in Iceland Fundamental provisions of directive 2001/18/EC have been transposed in Iceland by Act No. 18/1996 on Genetically Modified Organisms, as it was amended by the Icelandic Act No. 83/2010. The directive will be fully transposed in spring/summer 2011 with corresponding regulation.
