  2. FACTS • America stemmed immigration from Europe • Populations of poor economic European countries increased • Global economy suffered

  3. WARRANTS and impact • American labor organizations did not want immigrants competing for employment. • 1924: US established immigration quotas for economically poor countries in Eastern and Southern Europe and Asia

  4. WARRANTS! and impact • Population pressure began to build in these economically poor areas. • These areas began to suffer from lack of land, food, and natural resources.

  5. WARRANTS!! and impacts • The poor countries had too many workers for too few jobs. America had jobs, but few workers. • This was not balanced so the global economy suffered.
