  2. EPA’s Brownfields Program? • Federal program which empowers states, local communities and other stakeholders to work together to reuse brownfields • Grants support revitalization efforts by providing funding for assessments and cleanups

  3. Brownfields Mission To “empower” states, communities, and diverse stakeholders to initiate cleanup and redevelopment of brownfields

  4. Competitive Grants Selection-FY10 304 Grants Selected • 188 Assessment ($42.56 Million) • 17 Revolving Loan Fund ($17 Million) • 99 Cleanup ($19.36 Million)

  5. EPA’s Investment in Brownfields Grants EPA has awarded over 2500 BF grants totaling over $740 million. This has helped: • Assess over 14,600 properties. • Leverage more than $13 billion in • brownfields cleanup and redevelopment • funding from the private and public • sectors. • Generate more than 60,000 plus jobs.
