Examining Messianic Prophecy Fulfilled Prophecy as Evidence • In an earlier lesson, we presented evidence that the Bible is God’s word by examining fulfilled prophecies. • This same kind of evidence demonstrates that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. • Jesus Himself pointed men to what the Old Testament prophets had said about Him as proof of His identity (John 5:39, 46).

Examining Messianic Prophecy Fulfilled Prophecy as Evidence • In Luke 24:44 Jesus told His disciples that “all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me." • There are 300+ prophecies written in the Old Testament relating to the coming Messiah. • The apostles often pointed their listeners to the prophets to prove their claim that Jesus is the Son of God (Acts 3:18-26; 10:43; 26:22-23, 27; 28:23)
