City Lab Sessions begins Jan 2013 • Get to know the teaching environment, facilities and practice • Get to know many staff at City • Awareness of the importance of laboratory work as an integral part of your engineering study • Develop the skills in laboratory techniques, measuring, interpreting, analysing experimental data • Make sure you’re well prepared bring lab instruction booklet, papers, pencil case etc. 4

Report Requirements – brief format • Read lab booklet and relevant lab sheet in advance before lab and report template after • Introduction – Objectives and Rationale • Experimental apparatus and procedure • Results and Analysis • Discussion • Conclusions Deadline for submission will be announced by your foundation programme director at Westminster Kingsway College 5
Health and Safety • Read the safety guidance notes • No smoking, eating and drinking • Note all emergency exits • Observe all signs when entering labs • Follow strict instructions given by the lab supervisor 6
