  2. Changes! • This summer, the literacy closet got some needed updates. You will notice that many books have changed levels. This was done so that all CISD campuses are in alignment using Fountas & Pinnell levels. Some titles were not in the F&P data base, so we left them as they were. In addition, 60 new titles were added.

  3. Arrangement The shelves were rotated in an effort to make better use of the sparse lighting in the area.

  4. Level Changes • Titles are now shelved in alphabetical order according to level. • We no longer have any grade/AR levels on any of the books or boxes. Level A box

  5. Big Books • Big Books no longer have levels on them. They are still located on the same spinner and book rack as before. Big Book Spinner No levels on these

  6. Locating Materials • Professional materials, reader’s theater, etc. are clearly labeled in the stacks.

  7. Locating Materials • Labels at the end of each row indicate which levels are located in that row. Shelf labels

  8. How to Check-Out books Check-out system has remained the same. Everyone has a section in the binder . Check-Out Binder

  9. Checking Out • Locate your section, and just list the title, number of copies, and date that you checked them out.

  10. Other Materials • Use the same binder system to check out all materials. • Notice that all the Books on CD/Tape are located together, in ABC order, on the back shelf. Listening Center Materials

  11. How to Check-In • When you return books, simply write the date and how many copies you are returning. Put the books in the Return box, and they will be shelved for you.

  12. Checking-In • Note that there is space to write books that are returned later. Say if a copy is in a Browsing Box for an extra few days.

  13. Keeping Track • Students will take books home in book bags as they always have. • PLEASE devise a system so you can keep track of the books.

  14. We expect kids to lose some books. • PLEASE let me know as soon as you realize a book is missing. • Send a note home to try to get the book or payment. • Find the Lost Book note HERE Just change the color on the note to match your book bags.

  15. We added 60 new titles this summer. New Books!!!!! Sundown Lane Lit Closet Book List New books are indicated with an asterisk (*) on the list.

  16. Come Browse! • Come spend some time checking out the changes, and browsing the new titles.
