  8. Mth63 Support class • Addendum to SyllabusAs part of the concurrent enrollment project the ABS department is offering, a support class has been developed that is mandatory for the ABE students. This support class will offer remediation in foundational math where needed and help in developing critical problem-solving skills necessary for being successful in a college credit math course. Homework and studying support is provided as well. The class is also offered to all veterans and to any other students that Professor Cathy Mulleary thinks would benefit. • The support class is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 12pm in room G-7. This is not a drop-in class. If interested, students must commit for the entire term. Attendance will be taken.

  10. Homework format • Heading - upper right corner • Name • Math63 • Text Section Number • List of Problems Assigned • Use the margin for numbering • Don’t crowd your work • Top down approach is required • Two columns, front and back, ok

  11. Grading structure • Homework 15% • Activities 15% • Tests 50% • Final 20% • 100% Grades are posted on Blackboard

  12. What does it take? • You must earn a minimum of 70% overall in order to pass the class. • This class is a pass/no pass; however a letter grade and average score will be recorded.

  13. Policies & Procedures • No tardies • Cell phones – off Texting – you’re out • Late homework not accepted • Activities - no make ups • Makeup Tests, 20% deduction

  14. Ground rules • Pencil only • No circling answers • No underlining of answers • No arrows or notes • No highlighting • No paper with fringes

  15. Our contract • The syllabus is our contract • Read it in detail • Sign off sheet is required • Sounds like a lot, but at least you know where the target is. • Questions?????
