Community Development Toolkit • Currently available in three languages (English, Spanish and Mandarin); Nunavut translation underway
Purpose and Users of the Toolkit • Designed to: • Foster closer relations between mining companies, communities and governments • Support sustainable community development activities that last beyond the life of a mining operation • Each tool is designed to address the needs of four key stakeholder groups: Government Officers, Community Members, NGO Members and Mining Company Staff
Using the Tools Each Tool contains the following sections: • Description - short overview • Purpose of the Tool - what you might use the Tool for • Who might use the Tool - mining company staff, government officers, community members, NGO’s? • When to use the Tool - at which stage of the project cycle? • How to use the Tool - step by step guidance • Key references - where to go if you need more information
