  2. Warm Up 1. Find the GCF of 50 and 25. 2. Plot the point (6, 2) on a coordinate plane. 3. Solve: 2394 ÷ 17

  3. Vocab • What is a prime number? • What does it mean to “factor” • Prime Factorization: Finding which prime numbers multiply together to equal a particular number • We factor these prime numbers out just like the factor ladder, or we can use a factor tree

  4. Rules • Each number only has ONE prime factorization. • Since 1 is neither prime nor composite, we do not use 1 in our factor string • List the numbers from LEAST to GREATEST • Numbers that occur more than once can be shown using exponents • Exponent: Shows how many times to multiply the base times itself
