  3. HUNGER FACTS http://www.projectbread.org/get-the-facts/ Project Bread’s Food Source Hotline received over 46,000 calls from individuals looking for assistance in 2013.

  4. HUNGER FACTS http://www.projectbread.org/get-the-facts/ As of October 2013, there were 501,212 MA households participating in SNAP.  This number continues to grow.

  5. HUNGER FACTS http://www.projectbread.org/get-the-facts/ Over 200,000 children in Massachusetts have a parent that earns less than $11 per hour.

  6. HUNGER FACTS http://www.projectbread.org/get-the-facts/ The rate of food insecurity in Massachusetts rose almost 40% during the Great Recession (2008-2012).  It is now almost 80% higher than in 2000.

  7. Emmanuel College art students lending a hand by applying the final glaze to bowls decorated by Chelsea’s community artists and then firing them in their kilns.
