ATLAS/ARDA LCG Demo ATLAS Distributed Analysis
ATLAS strategy • Jobs to production system • Access to all ATLAS resources • Jobs to each grid infrastructure • LCG – Resource Broker • OSG – PANDA • Nordugrid – ARC Middleware • GANGA User Interface Project • Seamless access to all possibilities for the users
Work in progress • Various parts have reached different status of usability • Two aspects will be demonstarted • Selection based on what was practical to demonstrate • Production system on LCG • Real user analysis job • Z→ • GANGA • Creation of example job on the fly • tt analysis
Prodsys Architecure Prodsys DB (Oracle) ATCOM Lexor Resource Broker LCG Sites Eowyn CondorG Executor CondorG Negotiator
Features for Distributed Analysis • Support for user defined jobs • Part of the new release • Access to the job database by Atcom using grid authentication • As of today jobs are still run under the certificate of a manager
Workload Management • CondorG • Negotiator at CERN and in Canada • LCG Resource Broker • New Lexor available • Under test right now • A version supporting bulk submission will be available soon
Data management • New DMS DQ2 not yet fully deployed • Intermediate solution • Central LFC lfc-atlas-test • Also used for small productions • Plan to move to DQ2 asap
Data • Merged Rome AODs • 2700 files • 150 GB • Has been replicated at several sites • PIC, IFIC Valencia • CNAF, Milano, Rome, Napoli, Frascati • ASGC Taipeh • FZK (planned) • Mixture of T1 & T2 according to ATLAS Computing model
Demo • Demonstrate of the ATCOM UI • “Real” user analysis job performing an analysis of Z→
Demo • Demonstrate GANGA CLI • Integration with build environment • Use GANGA to define a job on the fly • ttbar example • Submit it to LCG
Timescales • Currently systems are under test by a small number of users • All systems aim for public access to the tools for early next year
