Administration Code Revised 2014 • New this year – Revised Administration Code regulation - 2014 • Appropriate training required for anyone administering ACT EXPLORE/ACT PLAN, EOC, Alternate K-PREP or CCR optional tests • Signatures on Administration Code • Documentation of training • Group signature form provided by Testing Unit • New this year - Nondisclosure must be signed by anyone involved in testing in any way • Group signature form provided by Testing Unit • The signature will be good all year similar to the Adm. Code signature

Inclusion RegulationRevised 2014 • New this year – Revised Inclusions of Special Populations regulation- 2014 • Appropriate training required for anyone administering accommodations on ACT EXPLORE/ACT PLAN, EOC, Alternate K-PREP or CCR optional tests • Signatures on Inclusions of Special Populations Regulation signature sheet • Documentation of training • Group signature form provided by Testing Unit • Anyone assisting with testing accommodations must be trained annually • Documentation of training • Group signature form provided by Testing Unit.

Important changes • Added wording to indicate the training should include interaction and that materials are provided on the KDE website or can be locally developed (Appropriate Practices) • All persons involved with testing must sign a nondisclosure form to be maintained in the district (Test Security) • Added language around the release of data, embargo timelines and data review (Proper Reporting of Student Data and Nonacademic Indicators) KDE:OAA:DSR: km: 8/21/2014

Important changes • Clarification around students who are selected to participate in the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) testing • Two sections added (General Conditions for Using Accommodations) to offer some basic guidelines that accommodations shall meet • Student initiated • Technology considered first • Transitional strategies • District plan to fade over time (when appropriate) • Access to general curriculum KDE:OAA:DSR: km: 8/21/2014

  19. NRT* NRT* • Science at grades 4 and 7 NRT (part A- 30 items, 40 minutes only) • Not part of accountability • Instruction of new science standards begins this year

REQUIRED TESTING FOR SPECIAL POPULATIONS Alternate K-PREP (1% of the student population) • Attainment Tasks • Transition Attainment Record ACCESS for English Language Learners • W-APT • ESL teachers must keep test materials under “single-lock” when not in use. • ESL office is coordinating this effort. • ACCESS for ELLS • IMPORTANT NOTE: There is no extra “outside” assistance during the administration of ACCESS for ELLs. • Alternate ACCESS FOR ELLS

  21. Key Assessment Themes • DATA QUALITY—collaborative process between OAA and school/district staff to ensure accurate reporting of test results • TEST SECURITY—checks and processes to monitor appropriate administration of state-required tests

  22. Data Quality Accurate student level information • Infinite Campus and • Student Data Review and Rosters (SDRR) Application • Test Rosters • Data Review • Before public reporting—Early October • After public reporting—10 days after public release

Test Security • Seating Charts are required for ALL state-required test administrations (including all CCR tests except military-administered ASVAB and industry-administered Industry Certifications) • Seating charts are required for optional tests that will be included in accountability if the test is administered BY school staff. • Testing Unit will collect and maintain in case of potential investigations. • Seating charts are posted on our Testing Unit website.

Test Results • Published reports are pre-generated reports and data extracts. • To view a published report : • Go to Test Results > View Published Reports to see a list of available reports. • Select “District” or “School” from the View By options set. • Click the organization name to see a list of reports for that organization. • Click the Report Name to view.

  29. CIITS Continuous Instructional Improvement Technology System Excellent resource to access student enrollment history to assist with accountability work. Make sure to get the appropriate rights from your school-based IC support person.
