  2. The firts step in the European comunity formation was taken by the Frech foreign minister, Robert Schuman.He proposed that Germany, France an other coutries of europe wishing to join should share coal and steel. They did in April of 1951. Paris

  3. Creation of the EEC (European economic Community). Created the european comission and parlament. Do a common market between the states and adopted a particular agricultural policy. Rome (1957)

  4. Instigated by Jacques Delors. Aimed to deepen the EEC. Established the European Council. Introdused to use QMV. The single european act

  5. -Created an EU of 3 pilars: the european communities, Common foreign and security policy and police and juridial cooperation in criminal matters. -The EEC became EU. -Introduced the concept of european citizenship. -Introduced the EMU. Maastrich (1993)

  6. Amsterdam • Introduced the reforms to the funtions and of the main institutions to allow for future enlargement of the EU.

  7. Nice (2001) • Prepared the EU to enlargement: • Size and composition of the Comission • Weighting of votes in favour of more populated eamber states. • Extended QMV. • Enhanced cooperation.

  8. Lisbon (2009) • A more democratic and transparent europe. • A more efficient Europe. • A Europe of rigths and values, freedom, solidarity and security. • Europe as actor of global stage.
