He just didn’t like the divorce part. • The Puritans wanted the Church of England wholly de-catholicized. • They started to called themselves Separatists to separate from England.

Puritans • Henry VIII broke from the Catholic Church in the 1530s, but he wanted to maintain many rituals and creeds. • Many Puritans came from the woolen districts as discussed in class Monday and Wednesday.
