  1. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire By J.K. Rowling Ojas Patel

  2. About the author • Born in July 1965 at Yate General Hospital in England • J.K. stands for Joanne Kathleen • She has written all seven books of the Harry Potter series and also Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Quidditch Through the Ages, and The Tales of Beedle the Bard • She started writing the Harry Potter series during a late King’s Cross train and outlined plots for the books and started writing the first book • She has won 12 awards

  3. Setting • Harry Potter Goblet of Fire takes place during Harry’s fourth year at Hogwarts • The main setting is at Hogwarts in London. • Takes place present day • Multiple settings ~ A graveyard ~ The Quidditch World Cup

  4. Characters • Harry Potter- He is the main character, winner of Tri Wizard Cup, student at Hogwarts, and witness of Voldemort coming back • Mad Eye Moody/ Barty Crouch Jr.- Helps Harry get through the Triwizard Cup • Cedric Diggory- Gives Harry tips on the second task and is a victim of Voldemort, also is HufflePuff champion • Ron- One of Harry’s best friends and gives help to Harry. He is a full blood and comes from a poor family • Hermione- One of Harry’s best friend and really helps Harry in the cup and is top in their class. She is a mud blood or doesn’t have wizard blood

  5. Plot • Harry has a dream of a man getting killed by Voldemort and goes to the Quidditch World Cup with Ron and sees Voldemort’s mark in the sky • Harry, Ron, and Hermione go back to Hogwarts and Harry’s name is pulled out of the Goblet of Fire which chooses Triwizard champions • Harry goes through the first and second task of taking a dragon’s egg and saving Ron from under water

  6. Plot cont. • During the third task, a maze, Harry touches the Triwizard Cup with Cedric Diggory and gets transported to a graveyard • Harry sees Cedric die and Voldemort come back to life at the graveyard • Harry escapes the graveyard and tells everybody that Voldemort’s back • Barty Crouch Jr. is caught impersonating Mad Eye Moody • Harry goes back to King’s Cross to go to stay with the Dursleys

  7. Conflict/resolution • Harry and Voldemort -Harry gets sent to a graveyard when he touches the Triwizard Cup and needs to escape and get back to Hogwarts. Resolution- When Harry’s and Voldemort’s spells combine with each other and a dome appears around them. Harry sees victims of Voldemort emerge from Voldemort’s wand and they distract him long enough for Harry to get back to the cup and get back to Hogwarts.

  8. theme • The theme is if you need to do something but can’t, with a little practice/ work, it can be done • This theme best represents the story because when ever Harry needed to learn a new spell, he tried hard to learn it and always got it • The other theme was that if you help someone, you will always get help or a reward back • This theme represents the story because when Harry helped Cedric, he got help back from him and Cedric said he deserved the cup as a reward for helping him

  9. Personal book review I really enjoyed reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It is very exciting and is packed with plenty of action. The novel is slow in the beginning, but after that, I couldn’t stop reading it. The book is very interesting, although it did confuse me at times. This book is filled with energy and it contains a little suspense. This book was great and well written although you need to read the first three books in the series. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good book or a fictional book and to any age above second or third grade.
