  2. Theme • Proverbs 16:32 – “He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty.” • God wants the wise to have control over their anger.

  3. Words for Anger • The flaring of the nostrils (Prov. 14:17, 29, 15:1, 15; 16:32; 19:11; 20:2; 21:14; 22:24; 27:4; 29:8, 22; 30:33) • A commotion filled mind (Prov. 12:16; 21:19; 27:3) • Something that is in excess or overflowing (Prov. 11:4, 23; 21:24) • To be hot or red (Prov. 14:17; 15:1, 18; 16:14; 19:19; 21:14, 27:4) • To be indignant (Prov. 25:23) • To be gloomy, sad or depressed (Prov. 19:12)

  4. The Cause of Anger • Anger fails to avoid pride (Prov. 13:10; 21:24). • Anger fails to offer soft answers (Prov. 15:1). • Anger fails to be courteous (Prov. 19:11). • Anger fails to build bridges (Prov. 21:14).
