  7. GettingReady • Contact your group prior to 10/6 • Do Week 1 & 2 in The Search for Significance • Use Facilitation Guide • Pray for your group members by name

  8. Expectations of Facilitators • Walk deep • Prepare for the week’s lesson • Engage with and encourage your group members • Trust God for the outcome!

  9. Suggestions for Facilitators • Model the Seven Values • Use the Group Agreement in the first Group Meeting • Facilitate. Don’t Teach.

Group Agreement • I will complete The Search For Significance Weekly Devotionals. • I will attend all 8 sessions unless there is an emergency. • I will commit to confidentiality. • I will actively engage. • I will refrain from dominating the discussion, judgment, or giving advice. • I will pray for myself and for this group.

  11. Suggestions for Facilitators continues… • Establish ground rules for your discussions • Timeline for a Group Meeting • Make Childcare arrangements together – Evaluate as you go.

  13. Ground Rules • Honor time • Confidentiality • Keep discussions personal • Make sure everyone gets a chance to share • Draw out the quiet ones • Don’t respond to someone with ideas to “fix” his/her problem. Acknowledge people when they share

  14. Sample Timeline for a Group Meeting • 7:00-7:15 – Connection/Fellowship • 7:15-8:15 – Group Discussion (start this on-time!) • 8:15-8:30 – Prayer Requests • 8:15-8:45 - Prayer • 8:50…. you are done and it gives people time to get on their way by 9:00
