Lower Division vs. Upper Division • Lower Division Transfer • Transfer as a freshman or sophomore student • (less than 60 transferable units) • Requires high school transcripts • Requires SAT or ACT • Limited availability at UC and CSU campuses • To qualify, you must have been eligible for admittance after • high school graduation.

  3. Lower Division vs. Upper Division • Upper Division Transfer • Transfer as a junior • (more than 60 transferable units) • DOES NOT require high school transcripts • DOES NOT require SAT or ACT • Community College upper division transfer students receive priority for admission!

Requirements for Transferring • 60 transferable units • 2.0 GPA * • Completion of certain required courses • (specific GE and major prep courses) • Minimum Requirements for a CSU • Minimum Requirements for a UC • 60 transferable units • 2.4 GPA * • Completion of certain required courses • (specific GE and major prep courses) * Higher GPA is required for impacted majors & campuses.

Transfer Admission Guarantees • A formal written contract that outlines the courses you must complete & GPA you must earn before transferring. • Must earn 30 transferable units to qualify for TAG • Submit TAG in September for UC • Submit TAG in October/November for CSU All UC Campuses(2.8 – 3.5 GPA) (except UC Berkeley & UCLA) UC Davis UC Irvine UC Merced UC Riverside UC Santa Barbara UC Santa Cruz UC San Diego (ending fall 2014) CSU Campuses (2.0 GPA) CSU Monterey Bay

  8. ADT: Associate Degree for Transfer • 60 units with a minimum 2.0 GPA • Major coursework • CSU GE or IGETC • No extra WVC requirements for an AA/AS needed • Guaranteed admission to a CSU campus • Priority Admission to impacted majors and campuses

  9. Transfer Center Services • Research Colleges & Universities • Meet with College Representatives • Attend Informative Transfer Workshops • Receive assistance with college application process • College Fairs (Wednesday, September 18th) • Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAGs) • Transfer Handouts

Personal Tips • Meet with a counselor to develop an Educational Plan • Be aware of application deadlines (they are set in stone!) • Meet with your professors • Visit colleges/universities • Take English and Math as soon as possible • Counseling classes (Couns 5, 12 &/or 90) • Apply to multiply colleges/universities!
