  20. 2. Jesus is the Paschal Lamb • As a Jew, Jesus celebrates PASSOVER where a lamb is slaughtered and the blood SAVES the people from DEATH

  23. Gentile- non Jews • Non-Jews didn’t understand the references to Jewish scripture, so those preaching about Jesus used the metaphor of a RANSOM.

  24. Jesus- our ransom • We were SLAVES to sin and death.

  25. Metaphors • Not to be taken literally • Might make God out to be angry, cold-hearted
