Move Through Life invites experienced professionals who believe in lifelong dance to nominate for the Board of Management.
What is MTL? • A not-for-profit, membership-based association founded in 2004 that is concerned with promoting lifelong participation in dance.

Funding • Move Through Life has no recurrent operational funding, but is funded by: • Membership fees • Class fees • Ticket sales • Annual financial contribution from company dancers/choreographers • Fundraising • Sponsorship • Donations
Funding • Move Through Life has received grant funding from : • Arts SA • The Office of Recreation & Sport • City of Marion • Natural Resource Management Board (Awareness & Engagement Grants) • Fosters Community Grants
The Way Forward • We will continue to: • expand our class program in an incremental manner • provide support & opportunities for choreographers • present an Illuminate season each year to roadtest new work • Encourage choreographers to develop their work beyond Illuminate • Celebrate our 10th anniversary in 2014 • Stage a major production in 2014 based on the model used for Black Coffee in 2009
Board Role • Ultimate accountability and authority over the organisation • Governance of the organisation • Mission is to optimise the organisation’s performance and ensure compliance with legal requirements

Election & Term • Elected by members at AGM • Term is two years • Once term is expired, can stand for re-election • No limit to number of terms • Directors are encourged, but not required, to be members of MTL

Insurance • Public liability insurance • Professional indemnity insurance • At this stage, MTL does not have Directors’ and Officers’ insurance as it has been deemed unnecessary, but this is reviewed annually
Board Meetings • When: Tuesday evenings • Frequency: every 6 weeks • Duration: 2.5 hours (6-8.30pm) • Venue: 143 Henley Beach Road, Mile End
