Each One Teach OneProject Premise • We would attempt to educate and empower school staff members. • We would provide baseline information to every teacher, in every school, in all districts • We would create teams of support people in all our schools. • No one would train alone.
PLAN • Provide FASD training in one location to teachers selected from each North Island School District—with the understanding that these teachers would train other teachers in their own school districts. • Create a full day training power point presentation. • Create a “staff meeting” power point presentation. • Create a tool kit for each school district
Budget Awarded $10,000 After much discussion: • Release time for at least 1 teacher from each of our 6 Districts • Create (re) Vernon Tool kit for District’s Lead Teachers • $1600 to each District—how the money was to be dispersed would be a district decision • $400 for training day lunch, and supplies
In Kind DonationsOur School Districts have supported us with: • Release time for District Partner Meetings • Travel costs • Facility costs • Food, beverages • Handouts • Tech time
Accomplishments • Regional FASD Training– North Island Tour • School Based Work-Developing Lead Teacher Training Session and Materials for Lead Teachers to use to train staff – development of tool kits • EA Training- Every district embarked on the process of training EA’s and CUPE staff. • District Partner Development– sharing of information and expertise, heightened awareness and respect, admiration for each other.
