Combined Federal CampaignSolicitation: Give every person in your organization the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the campaign by making contact with individuals requesting consideration of donation. 100% contact is the goal!
Seek Investment, Not Charity • Fund Raising is not begging. We are not asking people to give us something for nothing • When we ask for contributions to CFC, we are giving the contributors the opportunity to do something for society, for the surrounding community, but most of all, for themselves. Keys to Fundraising
Keys to Fundraising • Ask People to Consider • a Specific Amount • All prospective contributors want some guidance, the more specific the better • Suggesting to a donor “Whatever you can do” • is a recipe for failure. It implies that the organization is ambiguous about the whole enterprise • If asked, explain to a prospective donor that while any gift is appreciated, the guideline gift is the Fair Share (one hour’s pay per month)
Solicitation Pledge cards areconfidential- Do not share information about whether an employee has chosen to participate in the campaign, or the amount of their contribution, with their supervisor or anyone except you. If they are not able to forward cards to you immediately, they need to keep them in a secure location. Key Workers may share department totals with supervisors.
