Brick bonds: what is bonding? • Bonding is the arrangement of bricks in an interlocking pattern. • The reasons for bonding brickwork are: • to make sure the wall has strength • to distribute loads evenly • to help the wall resist sideways or lateral pressure
Wall thickness is given in brick sizes, e.g. half-brick or one brick
