Transitive Verbs have Voice. • Passive voice – the subject is receiving the action. • Active voice – the subject is doing the action. • Sharon made mistakes. • The dog bit him. • I dropped the backpack. • Use passive sparingly. • If the doer of the action is unknown. • If the object is more important than the doer of the action. • Many errors were made in the yearbook captions.
