Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs) • To provide students with a sound foundation in the mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals to excel in postgraduate programmes as well as to succeed in technical profession • To develop core competence in the field of Computer Engineering to formulate, solve and analyze engineering problems • To provide hands-on experience on tools, techniques and technologies related to computer engineering. • To introduce fundamental concepts of management, finance, humanities and social sciences. • To inculcate oral and written communications and provide experience of working in a team. • To introduce professional ethics and codes of professional practices and promote self and life long learning.
Programme Outcomes • Graduates will demonstrate basic knowledge in mathematics, science and engineering. • Graduates will demonstrate excellent programming and problem solving skills. • Graduates will demonstrate ability to devise adequate data structures and algorithmic strategy so as to design the most efficient computer systems/applications • Graduates will be able to design and implement structural units such as modules, components, protocols, services and interfaces. • Graduates will be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form • Graduates will demonstrate understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities • Graduates will develop skills and confidence for self-learning and understand value of life-long learning. • Graduates will be broadly educated and will have a successful career.
Course Outcomes for Digital Signal Processing The student will be able to • Understand various types of signals and systems • Understand different operations on signals • Understand various properties of systems and their classification • Analyze the signals and the systems in time domain,frequency domain and Z domain • Outline the process of system design • Understand the problems/challenges in the design of a system (e.g.finite register length effect,Gibbs Phenomenon) • Describe strategies used in the design of various phases of a system(e.g.FIR or IIR) • Apply different techniques of system realization • Apply DSP techniques in different domains like image processing,audio processing,exploratory data analysis
