  1. Why lasers are used for cutting Lasers are utilized for many reasons. They are utilized for cutting metal plates. On mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium plate, the laser cutting procedure is highly accurate, yields brilliant cut quality, has a little kerf width and little heat influence zone, and makes it conceivable to cut extremely intricate shapes and small holes. The vast majority definitely realize that "LASER" is really an abbreviation for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. In any case, how does light slice through a steel plate is not known to many. How it works The laser beam is a segment of high-intensity light, of a solitary wavelength, or colour. On account of an average CO2 laser, that wavelength is in the Infra-Red part of the light spectrum, so it is invisible to the human eye. The beam is just around 3/4 of an inch in width as it goes from the laser resonator Focusing the laser beam can be done by a special lens, or by a curved mirror, and this takes place in the laser cutting head. The beam has to be precisely focused so that the shape of the focus spot and the thickness of the energy in that spot are perfectly round and steady, and focused in the nozzle. The powerful density results in rapid heating, melting and vaporizing of the material. When cutting mild steel, the heat of the laser beam is sufficient to begin a burning procedure, and the laser cutting gas will be unadulterated oxygen, much the same as an oxy- fuel burn. When cutting stainless steel or aluminium, the laser beam essentially dissolves the material, and high-pressure nitrogen is utilized to blow the liquid metal out of the kerf.
