  2. Baby Bears • Baby bears are a lot like baby humans • Born naked and helpless • They grow hair after 10 days • Since they are born naked they are dependent on body warmth • Mothers • Their Den (Home)

  3. Black Bear • I am a Black Bear. • Even though I am called a black bear, I come in various colors: • Brown • Black • White • Blue • I usually weigh about 300 pounds. • I eat just about anything and am quite fond of honey! • I like to climb trees and usually climb when I am in danger.

Brown Bear • I am a Brown Bear. • When I go fishing for food, I like to belly plop into the water! • Even though I am quite large, I run very quickly. • I can walk upright just like a human. • I eat grasses, berries, insects, fish, and other small mammals. I rarely, but sometimes eat larger animals as well.

  5. Polar Bear • I am a Polar Bear. • I love to eat seal and I will patiently wait for hours until I find my food. • One of my favorite things to do is swim! Thanks to my large and slightly webbed feet it is quite easy. • I do not hibernate like other bears. • I tend to be more aggressive than other bears.

  6. Asiatic Black Bear • I am a Asiatic Black Bear. • I am similar to the black bear, but I have a white patch of fir on my chest. The fir is often shaped like a V. • I eat bee’s nests, insects, invertebrates, small vertebrates, and fruit. • Not much is known about me because I have not been studied as much as other bears.

Sloth Bear • I am a Sloth Bear. • I am a relatively small bear. • I like to eat termites, yummy! • I have quite a bit of hair on my back, but my belly is quite bare. • I have large ears and hear very well. • I have a lot of teeth, but because what I eat is in the dirt, my teeth are not in good shape.

Spectacled Bear • I am a Spectacled Bear. • My name comes from the markings which surround my eye. • My fur can be anywhere from brown to black. • I am a small bear. • I ear a wide variety of food such as: Mice, rabbits, birds, berries, grasses, and more! • I build nests in the top of trees to use as a feeding platform and a bed.

  9. Giant Panda Bear • I am a Giant Panda Bear. • I am quite misunderstood due to my rare qualities. • I have a thumb so I can grab onto my bamboo. • One way to mark my territory is to scratch trees. • I am a vegetarian, but I only in bamboo for the most part. • I also enjoy climbing

I am a Grizzly Bear. • I can be a range of different colors. • Grayish • Yellow-Brown to Dark-Brown • Black • Despite my large size, I can run very fast. • I climb trees to find honey. • I can swim quite well. • I use my claws and powerful jaw to fight, catch my food, and mark my territory on the trunks of trees.   11. Sun Bear • I am a Sun Bear. • I am a small bear, but not just a small bear, the smallest of all bears. • My teeth are flatter than other bears. • I eat termites, birds, small mammals, and even bits of oil palms, and other crops.

Koala Bear • I am a Koala Bear. • When I am a baby, I am called a Joey. • I stay in my moms pouch until I am about 6 months old. • In my community we can have our own trees which may overlap with other trees. • I communicate with my mother by making clicking or humming noises. If I am in distress, I shriek loudly.

  13. Football Bears • University of Central Arkansas Bears • Our mascot is a purple bear. • Chicago Bears • Our mascot is a grizzly bear.

  14. Basketball Bears The Memphis Grizzly basketball team has used the grizzly bear as their mascot!

  15. Gummy Bears Bears can even come in candy form!

  16. Teddy Bears Bears can be very fluffy, cuddly, and make you feel safe and secure!
