State Purchasing Definition “Profession” means the profession of certified public accountancy, actuarial services, architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, licensed or accredited appraisers or licensed or accredited financial analysts providing opinions of value, chiropractic, dentistry, professional engineering, podiatry, pharmacy, veterinary medicine, registered professional nursing, harbor piloting, land surveying, law, psychology, medicine and surgery, optometry, and osteopathy.

  3. Other Professional Services Fall outside of the State Purchasing definition Governed by Title 26 and 43 of O.C.G.A. – require a license to perform Include: Professional counselors, social workers, and marriage/family therapists Electrical contractors, plumbers, conditioned air contractors, low-voltage contractors, utility contractors Librarians Nurses Physical Therapists Persons engaged in structural pest control Water and wastewater treatment plant operators and laboratory analysts

  4. Other Types of Services Not considered professional and do not require a license to provide these services Examples: Consulting Web Site Development Asbestos Surveys and other types of surveys
