  2. Daily Living… • Individuals require daily living needs in other settings (not just at school) • Many AT devices provide individual functioning (that might NOT have been possible) • There are NUMEROUS daily living AT devices (to suit all the particular needs)

  3. Non-slip materials to hold things in place… • EX: • Dycem • Rubberized shelf liner

  4. Universal cuff/strap to hold items in a hand…

  5. Color-coded items for easier locating and identifying… • EX: • Files • Folders • Drawers • Closets

  6. Adaptive eating utensils… • EX: • Foam handles • Deep sides • Bendable utensils • Weighted utensils

  7. Adaptive drinking devices… • EX: • Cup with cut out rim • Nosey cups • Straw holder • Handy cup

  14. Print/picture schedule… • Pros: • Helps keep students organized • Students understand pictures (if difficulties with reading or smaller print)

  15. File box/system… • Pros: • Helps students with organization skills • Provides easy accessibility to store/retrieve assignments

  16. Highlight important text… • Pros: • Shows main ideas/concepts • Enables students to focus on certain information • Can help with tracking as students read to keep place

  17. Record material… • Pros: • Enables learners to listen to pre-recorded lessons • Allows learners to record lessons (instead of missing out on vital information needed for good note taking) • Provides students with writing difficulties to use an oral assessment (rather than a written assessment)

  18. Planner/organizer… • Pros: • Keep track of tasks and daily to do's that are so easy to forget if not written down • Help remember homework/tests/projects

  19. Voice output reminders… • Pros: • Enables individuals to become more active in communicative interactions • Students with ASD can communicate without the need of visual communication
