Moodle • Can be used for: • Book discussions • Group Projects • Alternative to Reading Journals/ Post-its • Assigning class research activities • Documentation of student performance/participation • Can be accessed from home *All PASD teachers and students already have Moodle user-names and passwords. Take advantage of this!
Garage Band • Used for recording reading fluency • Options for students to self-evaluate or to track progress throughout the year • Use a stopwatch timer instead of built in clock because it measures beats per measure instead of standard seconds • Can record DRAs for help with scoring or to get a second opinion when placing intervention groups • Files can be saved in a folder on desktop for easy access when you need them
Powerpoint • Great way to put a visual to text • Discovery streaming videos can be embedded • Audio can be recorded to use with the slides • This is great for low level readers following along with textbook excerpts which might be beyond their level of ability.
Google Sites • Class Website Templates Available • Very User Friendly- Easy to customize • Perfect for home-school communication • Homework page available • Curriculum links • Can attach documents https://sites.google.com/site/thefrantzzone/
iPods/iPads • Record student presentations or reader’s theatres • Research on the web • Take photos for animoto • Great vehicle for utilizing all of the programs we’ve been discussing
