Developing Derby’s Approach to IFD: • Derby started off by looking to achieve a consensus across the partnership about what we meant by IFD • Was progressed with the April workshops • Thought about in the participation work • Developed through the discussion paper • Worked on in the partnership senior staff development days • Publicised through staff briefings and newsletters with opportunity to ask questions and feedback • Governance and commissioning to outline approach developed
Agreed aims of Integrated Front Line Delivery • Improve outcomes for all children and young people • Promote social inclusion • Maximise opportunity to provide a continuous service to children and young people, minimising changes of worker • Provide a service in relation to need that is consistent • Intervene at the lowest tier of intervention compatible with meeting need

CAF/LP in Derby • Pilot project in Sure Start area 2002 – 2004 • City wide roll-out from September 04 supported by the C & YP Strategic Partnership • To date 400 frontline practitioners been trained (600 by end of financial year 05/06) • Target for 06/07 is training for further 500 frontline staff • Systems and processes established and ongoing supporting implementation of CAF e.g. IT solution (CIBER) • Lead Professional Trailblazer underway • Agreed multi-agency indicators
